How is the WEA associated with Grow Utah Ventures?
Grow Utah Ventures, a Kaysville based angel investor firm founded by Alan E. Hall, has asked the WEA to be involved with qualifying businesses seeking funding. In simple terms, the WEA will review business plans and meet with businesses seeking capital to grow its business. If a business looks promising, the WEA will setup a meeting with Grow Utah Ventures to proceed with funding.
In 2006, Alan Hall gave the WEA a $1,000,000 endowment ensuring the WEA will remain prosperous and see long term growth within the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics. Through this endowment, several scholarships are awarded each school year to leadership in the WEA. If you are interested in applying for the Alan and Jeanne Hall Entrepreneurial Scholarship, go to www.weber.edu, select Current Student, login, select My Student Services, select Apply for Scholarships, update your personal information, and submit. The scholarship deadline is February 1st of each year.
Additional opportunities arise each year with Grow Utah Ventures. This past year, the WEA was asked to assist with the Utah Technology Council's Hall of Fame event in which 10 members of the WEA were able to attend.
