Syndicated Venture Capital Fund
The WEA is in the process of establishing a syndicated venture capital fund up to $100,000 to offer seed capital to local start-up companies. Fundraising and venture donations from WEA sponsors have made this opportunity possible.
This fund is also the only one of its kind. WEA members have an option to have their piece of the pie by being the investor. A select few have an option to invest their own money to have ownership in the fund. This is as real-world as students can get. By being the investor, students can sit on advisory boards on funded companies, participate in annual investor meetings, and work hand and hand with start-ups.

USTAR
The WEA has teamed up with the Utah Science Technology and Research initiative (USTAR) as an outreach center to strengthen Utah's "knowledge economy."

Utah Entrepreneur Challenge
Many WEA members have a chance to compete in the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge business plan competition. Additionally, Weber State University is hosting its own executive summary competition in which the winner will be an automatic semi-finalist in the UEC.
