What is the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge (UEC) ?

An idea sparks the imagination of a young entrepreneur; this idea is the blue-print behind the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge. Ideas from hundreds of students across the state fuse together in one event that combines the spirit of entrepreneurship and the resources of successful business owners. Students are given the opportunity to engineer their ideas into a formal business plan and compete for a $100,000 dollars in cash and in-kind services. Created in 1999 by a group of ambitious students at The University of Utah, the Challenge offers one of the largest cash prizes for any collegiate level business plan competition in the United States.

Weber State University's Executive Summary Challenge

Weber State and the John B. Goddard School of Business & Economics has created its own challenge, an executive summary challenge. Student entrepreneurs submit an executive summary to a panel of experts that judge the ideas. The top three ideas win cash prizes, specifically $2,000 for first place, $750 for second place, and $300 for third place. Additionally the first place winner will automatically be a semi-finalist in the Utah Entrepreneur Challenge. The Weber Entrepreneurs Association coordinates with the UEC with two WEA campus representatives to head the competition.
