The University Venture Summit is an opportunity for students to learn from leading venture capital professionals in the country. It is an opportunity for students and entrepreneurs from around the country to share their perspectives on the future of the venture capital industry and the entrepreneurial climate.
Bryant Wimmer, Vladimir Canro, Rob Sanders, Casey Elliot and Matt Peterson from the Weber Entrepreneurs Association attended this unique event to learn from the best of the best in the venture capital industry.
The event kicked off Thursday evening with Bill Price (TPG Capital) as the keynote speaker. When asked about hiring top level managment in any of his companies, Bill's number one rule is "Never hire assholes" and gave valuable information on what qualities should comprise new management.
Friday was packed with several panels discussing venture capital, entrepreneurship, and private equity. Skullcandy, a company that was funded by Grow Utah Ventures, was a sponsor of the event and featured CEO Rick Alden on one of the entrepreneur panels. Rick talked about entrepreneurship verses actually having a job.
